About Mike Wood

Michael Wood has practiced criminal law in Idaho for 27 years. He is an effective, professional, tough attorney with extensive trial experience. Mike completed his education at the University of Colorado, Boulder, and gained experience in Fort Collins and Colorado Springs. He worked for the CU Legal Aid and Defender Program and Pikes’ Peak Legal Aid in defense of the indigent and those who needed fair representation.

While in Colorado Springs, Michael was appointed for a year as a Juvenile Referee (Judge) for minors. His experience with youth court inspired him to continue in his legal practice and informed him about the challenges of family law.

Mike moved to Idaho and became the head public defender for Twin Falls County. His experience in death penalty cases earned him a strong reputation. He successfully challenged the use of Grand Jury proceedings to issue wrongful indictments. Wood entered private practice in 1996. He is a member of the U.S. Court of the 9th District in Idaho.

Wood tries misdemeanor and felony charges throughout Idaho and is a capable family law, DUI, DWI, DWP, L&L, illegal search and seizure, trial, and appeals lawyer. He combats allegations of sex crimes, domestic violence, drug trafficking, weapons charges, and parole violations.
